I don't see any information on the Nvidia site that explains the
differences. I have a 5700 LE card. I have the 8776 driver installed and
xine, mplayer, and kaffeine all cause the display to freeze with the
only way to recover is to reboot. The system runs FC6 on an Athlon
64-bit system.

1.9-9629 replaces 1.0-8766.  Its newer. They aren't alternatives to
eachother.  You should post an nvidia-bug-report.log on nvnews.net if
you want help with the instability.
