As I am relatively new to Linux I have had a difficult time to
understand what the real problem over which interface to use; to me it
is a case of choose the one you want and that's the end of it.

foe we need some solid choices in the gui world; while command line may
give one better control etc the reality is the non techno crowd will
only use an operating system that has a gui they can work with, as each
of us looks at things differently several choices have a better chance
of appealing to the regular user.  While I think the current choices
are usable by the non tech crowd the message needs to get out that
which ever distro one chooses or interface they all will hold there own
against the common foe.
