I haven't seen anyone else report this, Aaron, and it certainly didn't happen to me. I'm using yum both for installing packages and updating, and haven't had any problems at all.

think that is what got me in trouble.

Pirut doesnt have any capability to do updates and certainly not automatic updates. Pup can do updates but not auto updates. You can in Fedora Core 6 configure yum-updatesd to automatically do updates but that feature is not working due to a bug.
