XFCE is frankly, not that well developed in FC unlike xubuntu, where the
interface is essentially similar but crisper than with ubuntu (and gnome). It
would really help, if one could install FC with xfce and no gnome or KDE. If
gnome or KDE needs to be installed just to get things like firefox or others
working, I don't see where XFCE fits in.

Personally, I am for low resource usage and XFCE or no-desktop-managers (I use
fvwm2) are my preference.
