What changes when you run Configure Desktop ? > It's Gnome, not KDE, but doing some more reading seems to indicate a problem with compiz not honoring xinerama and twinview multi-monitor. Some of the compiz and beryl forums indicate that this may be fixed somewhere upstream, but I haven't been able to confirm that.
