Umm, this is a guess. I had gotten 600MB from a mirror before the official torrent was available and did the above and it worked just fine. I was able to leave it running most of the afternoon and ended up with a share rating of over 5 before I needed to shut it down so I could burn CDs to take it home without having overruns screw them up.
