You probably installed fedora fine, and did not get grub installed to
the MBR properly.  By default the MBR is located on the primary master
drive (hda)

If Windows is on that drive it is certain from what you describe that
grub did not get installed there.

During the install you select where to install the boot loader.  Did you
select the MBR?  or did you select some other location?
