Yep. I did an upgrade from FC5.

It installed the i586 kernel instead of the i686 kernel, but installed
the i686 kernel headers. I discovered it when trying to build a kernel
module. I had to go to the DVD, find the i686 package, and install it
with --force. Seems fine now.

I've also been getting all sorts of dependency errors when trying to do
a yum update - but with the fedora servers apparently having problems,
that's not a big surprise. I'll try waiting it out...

There is no Preferences -> Desktop Effects here.
