fight through: system -> administration -> display
and then (afaik after logout/login)
system -> prefenerences -> screen resolution

you need a kernel module from maybe here:
http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/5/i386/?C=M;O=D

but first you need to configure your repo's:
http://rpm.livna.org/configuration.html

but read about it, if you decide to write to ntfs...
