Hi, Many thanks for trying to help me out!! I actually use fvwm, not gnome. What command line option could I use? Also, when I add the line to my fstab, how do I figure out what to put in? I know the lines to be put in, but how do I tell it that /media/cdrom has to correspond to such and such device? Previously, under FC4- it would come out with the installation, pretty much. Not particularly germane to the discussion, but I wonder why they got rid of it from the middle of FC4? Many thanks again and best wishes, Trotter --- Ed Greshko <Ed.Greshko@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Globe Trotter wrote: > > Many thanks in advance! > > Best, > > If you are running gnome you can simply go to the > "system-->preferences-->removal devices" menu and uncheck the appropriate > boxes. > > Then add the line of your choice in the fstab and you will be able to use > the mount command as before. > > Is that what you want? > > > > > --- Globe Trotter <itsme_410@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > >> Date: Sat, 14 Oct 2006 17:28:26 -0700 (PDT) > >> From: Globe Trotter <itsme_410@xxxxxxxxx> > >> To: fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx > >> Subject: reading files from a CD-ROM > >> > >> Hi, > >> > >> How do I read files from my CD-ROM in my program?
