I here that you can do a 3D desktop with KDE on FC6. In fact here is a video of somebody doing it but I can't find instructions on anything other than MetaCity:

This is no help with KDE:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/RenderingProject/aiglx
compiz --replace gconf &
gnome-window-decorator &

this gives you the ugly default theme. look at

http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=125275

scroll down to Beryl on FC6 section and you should find instructions.
I have been using beryl on aiglx on FC6 test 3 on my laptop with i810 graphic card without any problems. aiglx works MUCH MUCH better than Xgl IMHO.

Best of luck.

Has anyone got a good resource for aiglx with KDE?
