The Samsung brand 1G device I bought a few weeks ago has been working with no
problems. It does not appear to have a write protect switch.

The ByteStor 1G device I bought a few months ago also works with no problems.
It seems to be formatted with two partitions. The very small partition had
the windows files in it. I deleted those and use it to keep a separate copy
of my kwallet. Strange but if I set the write protect switch on this device
it seems to stop working altogether, with both windows and FC5 (and FC3).
