Nope the FC6 bind rpms and the Network-config rpms did the trick. I
found them in development I think.

Lookie here:

root@iam html]# more /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

It works now!!! No crap with aliases anymore!!
See?? That version FC5 bind rpms with 33 in the series is borked.

Spent all <God help me from cursing a mighty oath> weekend fighting a
fight that couldn't be won. Stayed up two nights until 5AM. If I HAD a
chance at knocking boots with a wide mouth mule, I would have had to
say...

"Sorry Darlin'... not tonight." <---Elvis speak

"Eiiieee Hawwwwww!" <sad eyed wide mouth mule speak for...
"You love that computer more than you do me!!">

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/

is where I got 'em. This ought to set off a stampede. Serve them right,
too. I also grabbed anything system-config that looked like networking
too. Nary a burp in the barrel, took me all of 15 minutes. Running like
a scalded ape now. It's all good. Before I could not even get my own
webpages up locally, now on I'm the net. Do I know just what I did?
Hell Naaaah. It works, didn't have to hand edit a damn thing.

Hey Red Hat!!! You know what I want?? I want some FC6 CD's as recompense
for this. The second release, not the first one. The one with the fixes
in it. Serious as a heart-attack about it, too.

Bugzilla said Friday that it would be fixed almost immediately and I had
to break in like an Ex Con, and rob the devel-piggy bank, 2 days later.
PLUS! I Beta tested your sh*t for you for nothing. I am spent, it's 2AM
and have to be up early. You guys owe me BIG TIME! And, you know I'll
raise hell about it until you do. <evil cackles> You know that to be the
unvarnished truth as well as you guys know me. I'll sic Lonnie AND Tim
on ya, that's what I'll do. See if I don't. Maybe a T-shirt, too. Oh,
yeah, a Yellow Fedora. Or a Red one. I'll keep adding if I don't get the
CD's. Ric
