As a normal user, cp does not ask for permission to overwrite.
As root cp is actually an alias to "cp -i" and thus it asks for
permission to overwrite, delete, etc.

If you are running as root and "really" want to overwrite files (and
maybe change ownership/permissions as well) then a simple "cp -f" will
override the -i and force it to continue.
