Is there any way to install additional software packages in fedora core 5... I mean from fc5 dvd.... not from the internet...
Pirut does it from the internet.... it cannot be used to install from local media... I ve got mad of this....
Tried rpm -ivh --aid packagename but it doesnt work for some reason.. It shows failed dependencies.. !!!
Ive known that in previous redhat versions the rpmdb package has to be installed for --aid to work properly.
All suggestions welcome..... And its not just installing 2 or 3 rpms that iam asking...
this is the case of installing... packages with real dependency.... like gnome or kde ... Earlier System-config-packages was good at this...
and --aid was better through command line... Should i go and try synaptic or other stuff... ?? please suggest your valuable opinions...
