Since you want to remove it run fdisk /dev/hda this would give you a little menu ...choose d this would ask you which partition.. I am sure that would remove it but there is still the issue of installing windows which you would have to solve later... Best of luck...

You could just not mount in Linux and just let the Windows 2000 reformat it. THe real problem is that it is not the first partition on the disk. Windows likes to be in the first partition on the disk.
