Possibly the timezones are skewed, possibly the system clocks are
skewed. What does "date --utc" say on each box?

the server gives the following ...
[root@mail ~]# date --utc
Sat Sep  2 10:45:22 UTC 2006
[root@mail ~]#
The client s windows 2000 and the time zone is south africe / Johnanburg which is correct..
