That's my problem, where /dev/sd* worked, something changed the drives to /dev/hd* and it goes nuts. It tries /dev/hd*, then errors and then tries /dev/sd* and works. All of my multimedia programs now hunt for /dev/hd* trying to find the DvD. Where can I reset this?
