VMware configure trouble on FC5

I am trying to configure VMware-workstation-5.5.1-19175.i386.rpm on
FC5 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp

I have installed the kernel-smp-devel kernel-2.6.17-1.2174_FC5.src.rpm

/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl is looking for something
in /usr/src/linux/include

/linux/include none of this part of the above exists

I tell it to look here
/usr/src/kernels/2.6.17-1.2174_FC5-smp-i686/include

but it gives me this

The kernel defined by this directory of header files does not have the
same
address space size as your running kernel.

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match
your running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]

What am I missing or what don't I have installed that it is looking
for so it can finish the configuration?
