Are you escaping the data from the file?

here would be a working php script:

      $fp=fopen($addfile,"r");
      $bvar=fread($fp,filesize($addfile));
      fclose($fp);
      $bvar=addslashes($bvar);
      $q="insert into table (file) values ('$bvar')";
