Nevermind, I build RPMs from the CVS and SVN versions of ipod-sharp and
libipoddevice and now banshee-0.10.11 works fine for me. It does not
compile properly (no iPod support) but the Banshee RPM that I was
keeping around, built on the latest stable releases of the libs, works
fine with the CVS/SVN versions of the libs and, more important, it sees
my iPod!
