/etc/modprobe.conf only contained the lines about my wireless card, nothing about sound. I upgraded my system to Fedora Core 6 Test 2, hoping that could make a change :) Wanted to let you know that I rediscovered how to get a lot of controls in alsamixer. It was using this configuration: alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-dig-demo It all didn't help much though, still no sound. I also messed with snd-intel8x0, but I cannot get that module to load.
