Unless you are archiving data, USB flash or hard drives are
a lot nicer.  There are good reasons that so many people
have ipods instead of carrying around a few hundred CD's in
their brittle jewel cases.  A big space on a network drive
is even better for things like downloaded fedora install
isos.
