S3 Wake Fails With FC5 2.6.17 Kernels

S3 wake-up fails on all FC5 2.6.17 kernels on my laptop.

Laptop is a Sony VAIO FS-640/W.

This used to work with FC4 after I added custom a handler for the lid
switch. Since FC5, I eliminated that in favor of the Klaptop Button
Actions (KDE). But since any 2.6.17 update, the wake-up fails. The
LCD remains powered off and the X server crashes. Logging in from
another machine (or typing in the blind to switch to a console
terminal) to run the reboot command is the only way I have found to
recover (if you can call it that).

S3 sleep/wake works fine with 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5. It fails with

    2.6.17-1.2139_FC5
    2.6.17-1.2145_FC5
    2.6.17-1.2157_FC5

I've opened a bug at

    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198998

on July 15, but there has been no response. Should I open a bug
report elsewhere?
