I have no idea why you need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH for MatLAB. I've run MatLAB on literally *dozens* of machines that, over the past few years, have ranged from RH-6.x --> RH-9 --> FC-1 --> FC-5 and have *never* (as far as I can recall) needed to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH for anything MatLAB-related. In fact, I have MatLAB installed and running on my laptop (FC-5) at this very moment and do not have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set for it, either. Ed -- Edward H.
