this bug is specific to FC5 I guess. reported the bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=200404 anyway I have tried "ps -A | firefox" to kill the zombie process of firefox after it closes unexpectedly expecting to get the process number and firefox but instead firefox starts from nowhere.
