My suggestion was based on redhat9. During that time, I had posted the similar question in this list and got many answer on third party boot loader (specially with windows 2000 and NT). I have been using Windows XP since then and never got to worry about this problem again.
The above is not true. Win 2000 and Linux both can be booted from grub, although it is true that it would be better the first time if the Windows was installed first. Otherwise using Linux rescue and grub-install will make it work.
