I have no reason to go looking for one.  Python comes with Fedora
already.

You are looking for the wrong package. FC4 ships with Python 2,
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/4/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/python-2.4.1-2.i386.rpm
