Hello, Rex :)
Yep, my case was easier :)  I now have my K-Menu back the way that it
is supposed to be, and redhat-menus is still installed.
Admittedly, even with my limited experience, when I saw 
> XDG_CONFIG_DIRS=/usr/local/kde-svn-fc5/etc/xdg:/etc/xdg

I was like, "This is it :)"
