USB disk appears as USBTEST not MASS STORAGE

I have an external MAXTOR USB disk that worked fine about 6 months ago (maybe FC3 or so as well).

Under FC5, it is only recognized as usbtest.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

dmesg:
usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 5
usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6
usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
  usbtest 2-2:1.0: FX2 device
  usbtest 2-2:1.0: full speed {control bulk-in bulk-out} tests (+alt)

/proc/bus/usb/devices:

  T:  Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=02 Dev#=  6 Spd=12  MxCh= 0
  D:  Ver= 2.00 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff MxPS=64 #Cfgs=  1
  P:  Vendor=04b4 ProdID=8613 Rev= 0.04
  C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=100mA
