With udev, running mknode is usually a wast of time. Udev will
create the device files as needed. The floppy devices are normally
created when the floppy module is loaded. From looking around, I
think this is done by the /etc/sysconfig/modules/idev-stw.modules
script. But you can try running "modprobe floppy" or "modprobe -v
floppy" and see what happens. It returns a "No such device" error on
my laptop, but I expected that, as it does not have a floppy drive.
