That 'warning' is just Mike Harris' FUD campaign against binary drivers.

It's (mostly) not FUD at all. The nvidia installer does (or at least did) replace system libraries, thus resulting in discrepancies between the RPM database and what's installed on the system.

Mike also suggests that people use those very same binary drivers in a properly-packaged format that doesn't trample over system libraries. In other words, it's mainly the installer he's warning about rather the drivers themselves.
