I am new to Linux and want to install in graphical mode but my display does not work properly. The installer is able to identify my graphics card but for the monitor it comes up "unknown type." The monitor is an IBM 6549 G96 CRT and the computer is a Dell Dimension 9100 desktop. All I get on the screen once it tries to start the native X server for the install are vertical lines on the screen. If anyone can help me or know what I need to type before starting the graphical install I would love to hear it.
