Are you sure that's all necessary? I have a ipw2200 system which just
worked with the new kernel without doing any of that.
It seems to work reliably enough out of the box, but there are some useful
patches in the latest drivers. You can probably live without them in most
cases, but if NetworkManager gives trouble, they are worth a try.
