Hello, Distribution: FC4 x86_64, up to date. Host: used an a NIS client (passwd: compat, and so on in /etc/nsswitch.conf) My problem: on boot, xinetd fails to start some services with: (syslog output) bind failed (Address already in use (errno = 98)). service = imaps Service imaps failed to start and is deactivated. bind failed (Address already in use (errno = 98)). service = pop3s Service pop3s failed to start and is deactivated. After analyzing, it happens that sometimes NIS requests use TCP/995 for a *short* period of time. So: - it is very hard to have lsof(8) displaying TCP/995 in use; - but tcpdump displays traffic between my host and the NIS server on TCP/995; The result is that xinetd fails to start with all services!!! My question: how to fix that? (I really need imaps and pop3s and NIS...) -- Jacques Beigbeder | Jacques.Beigbeder@xxxxxx Service de Prestations Informatiques | http://www.spi.ens.fr Ecole normale supérieure | 45 rue d'Ulm |Tel : (+33 1)1 44 32 37 96 F75230 Paris cedex 05 |Fax : (+33 1)1 44 32 20 75 -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
