USB mouse crashed for no reason on Fedora 5

hi, I installed a fedora 5 on the notebook (Micro star S260-1758DL), the usb mouse crashed shortly after starting system. At the beginning it still works fine, but just for several minitues, I guess it shuts down if I stop using it a little while. I checked the status of usb ports before and after crashing by using "dmesg | grep -i usb", there is no difference. Does anybody know how to solve it? Thanks.
