FC5 new install - using lilo - kernel panic

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

i installed FC5 on a computer that already had lilo as a bootloader. i
thought i entered the right options in lilo.etc on the main system,
but i get a kernel panic when FC5 tries to boot. lilo runs without
errors. can anyone help me sort out what might be wrong? i'm new to
fedora and i'm not sure what i might be overlooking. i have arch linux
on /dev/hda1, and fedora is on /dev/hda6. the lilo entries look like
this:

### Begin Linux Kernel Section ###

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.16.20
       label=arch-2.6.16.20
       root=/dev/hda1
       read-only
       append="video=matroxfb:vesa:0x18C"

image=/mnt/hda6/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5
       initrd=/mnt/hda6/boot/initrd-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.img
       label=Fedora_5
       root=/dev/hda6
       read-only
       append="video=matroxfb:vesa:0x18C"

thank you
