RPM (YUM) dependency question

I recently wanted to rebuild Postgres from sources on my play box. I thought I'd start by removing the existing Postgres installation and ran into what seems to be a strange dependency. For some reason, Apache depends on postgres-libs. Can someone explain why this is required?

Thanks,

John
