Check to see if that video driver has HWCursor, if it is enabled
then disable it and see if that makes things better.

You will need to disable it in the xorg.conf file, and the man page for
the driver will be "man nv" or will be contained in the nvidia
documentation.

add
        Option  "HWCursor"      "0"
to xorg.conf file in the device section and restart X
