They cost the same- or at least he exchanged the Maxtor to WD for me at no charge. But I'd like to restate what I said earlier- the 160 GB Maxtor had 163 GB available and the 160 GB WD had 152 GB available. Despite that, I went with the WD because Fedora (and Kubuntu) install on it, and they don't install on the Maxtor. The installers hang indefinitely.
