Its wrong :)

jonesc@localhost ~ > cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status

Driver:          NVIDIA
AGP Rate:        4x
Fast Writes:     Disabled
SBA:             Disabled

the "agp=off" seems to be a little known kernel option, but works just fine.
