Fedora Core 5 :: i2o_block error with DPT (pm1564u3)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I recently built a new machine using Fedora Core 5, with a DPT (now
adaptec) PM1564U3 Smart RAID controller card. I checked around
( http://i2o.shadowconnect.com/ ) and the card is supported, I even saw
this (http://i2o.shadowconnect.com/faq.php#i2o_scsi); it does not
apply.
Better still both the installer and rescue CD boot, find the controller
card (complain about IRQ 9 where the RAID card is) and continue on
loading 'i2o_block'.

When my installed copy of FC5 tries to boot, initrd always dies at
'i2o_block' ... I have edited my initrd so the computer boots, yet I
still can not get FC5 to recognize the card.

Kernel version : 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5smp ; fails with same error on
2.6.15-1.2054_FC5
