fedora-newrpmspec packagename

You mean

fedora-newrpmspec videotrans-1.5.1.tar.bz2

or only

fedora-newrpmspec videotrans-1.5.1

I mean:

fedora-newrpmspec videotrans

This will generate videotrans.spec, which will contain *no* videotrans-specific information other than the package name. You need to fill that in yourself. You really need to read some of the rpm-building guides, such as:

http://freshrpms.net/docs/fight/
http://rpm.org/max-rpm-snapshot/
http://www.gurulabs.com/GURULABS-RPM-LAB/GURULABS-RPM-GUIDE-v1.0.PDF

And be sure to build your packages as a regular user rather than as root:
http://www.city-fan.org/tips/CreateRPMBuildEnvironment

Paul.
