Particularly for a large package that > would take a while to download. > > Paul Hello Everyone I just tried the above quoted command on the largest RPM that ships with Fedora Core 5: rpm -qpl ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/openoffice.org-core-2.0.2-5.2.2.i386.rpm The outcome was that after a few seconds, I had a 3,176 line file that contained a list of all the files/directories contained in this RPM. I believe this shows that the entire file is not downloaded. This is VERY cool :) For fun, I downloaded the above mentioned RPM, and it took me 3 minutes and 7 seconds to download 81.6 megabytes.
