Hi all,

I just got this laptop with an Aironet Cisco card on it,

FC5 sees the card in the
system-config-network

but when I want to activate it it says.

/sbin/ifup: configuration for wifi0 not found.

Usage: ifup <device name>

can anyone help me please to make it work?

I had an airo for a while, but I swapped it for an Intel. IIRC, the airo driver is a bit strange in that it creates wifi0 as a shadow device. There should also be an eth0 or eth1 that corresponds to the card (check the MAC address in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth*), and that's the one you want to bring up and down.

thanks
