If you didn't use Wine, and didn't want to, then it might be a bit of a surprise that something allegedly *for* Linux, isn't, and it might be a bit of an extra drag on your system. For instance, previously I've tried using a couple of Windows programs through Wine, and it was a terribly slow and painful thing to attempt.
