DataStor Pocketec problems

Hello -

I have a DataStor Pocketec USB drive that works on my Fedora Core 3 Intel
desktop (2.6.12) but which doesn't work on a Fedora Core 3 Opteron server
(2.6.11). I've tried using the Supplemental Power Cable with it, but that
doesn't help. The system seems to see the drive and puts related entries
in the /var/log/messages file but then offlines it with the message:

scsi device offlined not ready after error recovery host 2 channel 0 id 0 lun 0

I'm wondering if we need to update one or more RPMs and, if so, which ones.
Or if there's some sort of other problem.

The opteron server is not on the internet so it's harder to keep updating RPMs
to figure out what I need and I'd prefer to keep it at the 2.6.11 kernel, if
possible. But OTOH I'd like to get the USB drive to work.

Thanks for any assistance,
Debbie
