ati mobility 7500 + Benq FP767-12 + FC5

Hi.

I have an IBM Thinkpad including an ATI Mobility 7500.
If I do only use the Thinkpad alone everything works fine. But if I run my
Laptop using the docking-station with an Benq FP767-12 attached Fedora does not
take the right screen resolution.
My Laptop-Display works with 1024*768 and my Benq should work with 1240*1024.
Under FC4 it worked fine. Every external Monitor/Beamer was detected with the
right screen resolution.

I'd try the ati and the radeon drivers.
It seems that xorg is not interessted what i do say to it using the
System->Administation->Display Dialog. __It allway starts with 1024*768.__
Also editing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf directly does not change anything. Even if I
delete it it does not take any sence. (Ok, ..my keyboard changes from german to
US)

(I am looking at the right xorg.conf because some changes are made by the
dialog, but the screen resolution is allways the same (may be the wrong
auto-detected) )

Last time I did attach a beamer to the external graphik port and it starts with
8?0*4?0. :(

If I try to change the screen resolution under
Sytem->Preferences->ScreenResolution, there is only the current resolution to
choose.

Summary:
If I start the notebook standalone it should work with 1024*768 and
if I start with Benq it should work with 1240*1024. But it does allway work with
1024*768.

PS I am not using both displays at the same time. That did not work under FC4
with two separate screen resolutions. Because of this Problem here I did not try
that with FC5 yet.

Thanks for all hints.
