Since you're coming from Mandriva, you'll probably like to use KDE and kde-redhat provides excellent quality, up-to-date, KDE packaging for FC. I also have freshrpms and dries configured, but not enabled by default. There are packages that I use which are not provided by the first set of repositories, like arj, acroread, cinelerra and others. However, I enable dries and FreshRPMs only when I need to download something from them.
