Hi,
I don't know whats going on but yumex gives this error in FC5
"Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: base
failure: repodata/repomd.xml from base: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try."
But this repo "[david@reddwarf ~]$ sudo vim /etc/yum.repos.d/local-base"
contains
# planetmirror base
#
http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$basearch/os
#http://premium.planetmirror.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/
ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/redhat/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/os/
http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/redhat/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/os/
http://mirror.optus.net/fedora/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/
ftp://mirror.optus.net/fedora/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/
ftp://ftp.wicks.co.nz/pub/linux/dist/fedora/5/i386/os/
Is this file referred to from somewhere else, such as fedora-core.repo?
Where is the repo definition for the "base" repo (which is called "core"
by default in FC5)?
Paul.
Paul
The file above is referred to as 'local-base'
"[david@reddwarf ~]$ less /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo"
"[base]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
mirrorlist=file:///etc/yum.repos.d/local-base
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1"
